2.1 How do I creare a
web sites for PonkTV?
Web sites for PonkTV are the same as
any other web site on the Internet only
they are created for viewing on a TV. TV
web sites need to limit text and links
to make viewing and navigation easy.
Web pages can provide detail info if
properly formatted for TV viewing - TV
schedules, newspaper like cartoons,
sound-bite news, flash videos, rating
type web pages, polls, and more. In the
near future the PonkTV web site will
provide a Yahoo type index of web sites
for viewing on your TV. If you know of
a compatible TV web site or create one
post a link in the PonkTV forums.
Here are some guide lines to follow
when creating PonkTV web sites.
- PonkTV is configured to display
800x600 pixels. Since PonkTV is not
designed for horizontal scrolling all
pages should be smaller than 800 pixels
in width. PonkTV does allow for
vertical scrolling both for text and
links. However; it does not have the
line scrolling you expect when using a
computer. Design pages so they scroll
nicely page by page for better viewing.
- PonkTV navigation scrolls though
each link until you come to the link
you want to press. To provide good
navigation design pages with this in
mind. Keep links to a minimum with the
most active links at the beginning.
- Text is best viewed in 24 point
font size. You can sharpen fonts for
better viewing by selecting contrasting
font and background color.
